If we had a liberal media?
Well, let's imagine how different it would be if we had control of the media instead of the pukes. First off, Bernard Goldburg's claim is probably the easiest of all puke lies to see through. I could see newscasters who are more generic, without extreme personalities and bigotries. They might be gay or transsexual. Guests would not necessarily need to shout or talk faster than they can think because the format may be more respectful of the guests expertise (O'reilley always disagrees with perfessionals). Laci, Jacko, and Paris may not get the lions share of attention. Liberals seem less interested in tabloid type stories. Even sitcoms may be different. Instead of making the non-conformist into the brunt of all jokes (hippies always depicted as ridiculous), the conformists could take the hit. Perhaps radio talk shows would be more substantive, not the fake repititious shows like Hannity or Rush or Weiners. I may be dreaming.

3. Don't you have it backwards?
It seems to me the media conglomerates promote and control their politicians. Thus, government becomes window-dressing for all the illegal and inhumane activity pursued by corporate masters.

Did the U.S. military invade Iraq? Or was it GE, Raytheon, and Lockheed who count on the military to hire temps (soldiers) to work the equipment?

6. If
we had a conservative media as you seem to think, then why are none of the advances being shown in Iraq? Why do we not hear about all the violence (which, by the way, is far worse person-by-person in some parts of the US) perpetrated in the inner-cities more often? Why do we not hear about the black-on-black killings (503% higher than white on black) more than the white-on-black killings? Why are those running for president allowed to slander the president by calling him a murderer? If Mr. Bush were a murderer, than why hasn't he been impeached and arrested? It doesn't take a member of congress to bring charges against any citizen, regardless of who he is. If Mr. Bush were truly this great criminal, where are the warrents?

8. ?? You're not making a whole lot of sense, until you start asking the
questions at the end...Indeed, where are the warrants? Why hasn't this lying bastard been impeached? His lies have caused the deaths of hundreds of our troops, and the wounding/maiming of thousands more.
Why hasn't he been brought to justice for his death-dealing lies, if Clinton could be impeached for lying about a blowjob??

I guess they must be conservative.

Or just sheep.

Plus Saddams capture (aguably an "advance in Iraq") got wall to wall coverage all week. Blew the passage of Patriot II right off the front page.

16. If
If Clinton was in office Fox would have a trailer under all the war
news "Clinton's War" or "Wag the Dog". What if Clinton would have made the "Bring em on" remark, right wing talk shows would be going nuts! The Bush war has morphed into the "War on Terror" on Fox and
"Rebuilding Iraq" on CNN.

11. PBS is a corporate charity
They are illiberal when it comes to economics. They produced the neocon miniseries "Commanding Heights" at the behest of Enron.

I can't say I am impressed with their news, and I heard they are busy trying to line up more Right-wing pundits to show off in early-PM as a sort of apology for the Bill Moyers NOW show, guiltily aired late at night.

The Left should not consider PBS to be truly public. It is a charity, which the government may contribute to out of its budget. This means PBS is beholden to politics and the government, and when the masses' real income is falling then only corporate interests are left to fill the funding gap. And there's no excuse: It has commercials.

A real public media institution has a charter with broad and independant powers to charge taxes or fees on the viewing public, usually giving a strong populist dimension to the broadcaster's income (and hence to its point of view).

14. They are a Non-proftit organization who accept donations from everyone.
Their programing is based one the requests of their donators and members.. Joining or donating to PBS will get you a vote on the content of the programing. Dont Blame PBS..Blame the Liberals who are not contributing..The only way Public Brodcasting works for them is if they get involved..

17. Liberal Media
Well, we DO have a liberal media. But why is that bad? And why do we have to be defensive about it? Seems to me we should just go *neener neener* and be glad we can get the message out.
