My daughter was born a month after the Persian Gulf War was launched. I've long been passionate and vocal about politics, so she's grown up hearing my rants and raves concerning such. In her early teens she used to chide me for voting staunchly Democrat. "You should vote for the best candidate, not along party lines," she'd tell me. To which I would reply "Conviently, that's exactly what I've been doing."

She's since changed her tune.

Come September she'll be 18, and she's extremely excited to be a part of the voting process, and being a part of getting a Democrat into the Oval Office. She's been going door-to-door, making calls ... really participating.

Somewhere along the way I did something right by my daughter (... or maybe it's that she's witnessed the current regime do things so terribly wrong? Either/or ...) Now she's a stead-fast, hard-line Democrat, and dammit, I'm proud.
