Test call tool and tell Congress: Bring our troops home safely
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 10:26 AM by IanDB1
Dear MoveOn member,

Within the next week, the House of Representatives will decide on a Democratic proposal to force the President to set a date to bring our troops home. Yesterday, MoveOn members voted to support this plan (we'll report the full results tomorrow).

Now we need to make sure Congress hears loud and clear that we want to stop the escalation and end the Iraq War. Can you help make sure they hear from folks in some key districts? With a new feature of our phone tool, you can call members and voters in target districts and connect them to their congressperson right then.

Your calling was critical during Call for Change and we could really use your help testing this new technology. Can you help out for 30 minutes tomorrow at 3:00 PM Eastern Time (2:00 Central, 1:00 Mountain, 12:00 Pacific)? Sign up here: http://pol.moveon.org/iraqpatch/index.html

Here's how the calling works: We'll connect you to a voter or MoveOn member—someone who is likely to agree with us on Iraq. You'll ask the person who answers to contact Congress about the war. If the person agrees, you hit a button and the person is connected to their representative right then, at no cost to them, so they can immediately deliver the message.

The calling tool is really simple to use. We'll give you full instructions, a script, and we'll even dial for you. You'll need to be on the phone and the internet at the same time, but we'll take care of the long distance charges.

Because we're still testing this tool, there may be a few glitches. But your feedback will help us improve the experience for future users. We need to have lots of folks calling at the same time for this test, so it's crucial that you can make at least 30 minutes of calls starting at 3:00 PM Eastern (2:00 Central, 1:00 Mountain, 12:00 Pacific).

This new technique will help us show broad public support for bringing our troops home safely and quickly. Your participation will ensure that we can start using it right away.

Thanks for all you do.

We've added a new feature to our calling tool that makes it easy for concerned citizens to take action to help end the Iraq War. Can you call for 30 minutes tomorrow at 3:00 PM Eastern Time to help us test it?
