I left a comment on the DNC blog about the Woolsey amendment
The blog is pretty useless, as you might imagine. I just wanted to share with them that I think those who voted against the amendment were hypocritical and spineless.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Let's talk about the Woolsey Amendment.

128 House Dems and 5 Republicans voted for this amendment which would have opened discussion FOR THE FIRST TIME on a timeline and a plan for withdrawing from the unprovoked war on Iraq. Will someone please help me understand why most if not all Democrats, including the minority leader, did not support this very important amendment? Five Republicans took the brave step to vote their conscience and do the right thing.

Since well before the election I have been working my tail off as an activisit for the party. There are millions like me.

If the Democratic party won't get a spine and demand accountability from the Bush Administration, then why should I continue to support it? Everyone complains about the lies of the Bush team, the millions that went missing in Iraq, the money earmarked for reconstruction that hasn't happened, a growing insurgency, unchecked accounts of torture, soldiers that STILL forage in garbage heaps for scrap metal to better protect their vehicles, bonuses for Hallibuton, privitization of Iraq industries which has thrown 70 percent of the people out of jobs. The generals in the field in Iraq expressed doubts last week that the war could be won. This was widely reported.

Why does the Democratic Party complain on one hand and continue to vote in support of the ongoing madness of Bush and Rumsfeld on the other?
