Poll finds Bush is losing support across California
Edited on Tue Apr-06-04 01:17 PM by Zinfandel
A new poll shows President Bush's approval ratings in California have plummeted, even in the state's most GOP-dominated conservative areas.

With the Iraq war taking a difficult turn and questions raised at home about the administration's terrorism policy, the poll by the Survey and Policy Research Institute at San Jose State University released Monday puts Bush's state approval ratings at just 38 percent, while 50 percent disapprove.

That's a dramatic change from the start of the year, when 49 percent of Californians approved of the job the president was doing, and 40 percent disapproved.

Even more telling may be the downward shift in public opinion in the nation's most populous state regarding Bush's handling of the war on terror and the war in Iraq -- two areas that Republicans have touted as the president's strengths.

2. CA has always been a blue state...
...need to worry more about Florida and Ohio this year, as those are the two "make or break" states. Nevermind what pravda, err, Cnn keeps saying, as long as LA and San Francisco are still here, the repugs don't stand a chance. That's why * keeps price gouging us on gas and electric....

3. Last poll I saw, both Ohio and Florida were essentially dead heats,
though Kerry had a slight edge in both.

Keeping Pennsylvania is also very important - it strikes me as the Gore state most likely to slide over to the Bush column. But if Kerry can keep every Gore state (which he might very well do) and pick up Ohio, Florida, and maybe Missouri - he'll win this thing in a walk with over 300 EVs.

Florida' 25 electoral votes again...and who will care? The election will be over and no one will overturn it Rove knows that...so the cry is steal the election again, who's going to stop us, who can overturn it? NO ONE! republican house & senate and partiasan supreme court.

And remember CA has had a republican gov three out of the last four times and they elected musclehead overwhelmingly...so nothing is a given, when it comes to republican money and the republican owned media.

6. Actually, they have 27 electoral votes now.
Even without Florida, if Kerry can pick up Ohio - and keep the Gore states - he wins.

9. GO OHIO!!
Turn blue baby.

They had some clowns on TV here in San Diego, saying how they were going to deliver the state for bush*. Repugs of course, faces whiter than albino mimes.I love San Diego, but the uptight conservatives here suck...

5. Having a Governator doesn't seem to help Bush one bit in CA.

10. That guy is a sick joke...
...and all that conservative rag of a San Diego newspaper can do is trample all over people to be the first in line to kiss his rear end.

8. I like your polling methods, Mr. Evil.
Even with a 5% MOE, Bush still has a 95% disapproval rating among you. :)
