Saddam lookalike escapes porno press gang


You figure looking like a notorious dictator has more downs than ups, but an Egyptian Saddam Hussein lookalike may have gotten the worst of it when he escaped forcibly starring in a porno.

According to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, Mohamed Bishr was harassed and ultimately attacked by a gang of armed men hoping to use him to impersonate Hussein in a fake sex tape.

Ahram reports that Bishr met with the gang earlier and had been offered the equivalent of $330,000 to portray the Iraqi dictator. After turning them down, Bishr began receiving phone calls from men threatening to kidnap and force Bishr to shoot the tape. Police believe the gang would have attempted to pass the video off as legitimate, selling it to media outlets.

The threats were apparently earnest; on Sunday, as Bishr was walking to an Alexandrian coffee shop, three armed men in black suits tried to kidnap him.

Bishr said that — as passersby looked on — the men grabbed him and forced him into a van, hitting his head as he entered. The assailants began shouting at each other, then threw him back out of the van.
