1. Cats are the best tests for women when it comes to dating.
Men who hate cats just ... suck. Run away, ladies, run away. Most likely they have major control/ego issues.

2. I cannot be friends with cat lovers.
I am very allergic to cats. I am allergic to dogs too, depending on the breed.

I have had to cut off friendships with cat owners because I could not visit them.

3. Not liking cats is a deal-breaker. Love me, love my cats.
Disliking animals (dogs or cats) is evidence of a serious character flaw and I don't want to have much to do with such people. Allergies are a different issue, of course; but people who just don't like animals are definitely off my list.

6. +1
disliking a whole species who does nothing to harm you is just Sad.

I'm into keeping (not owning) cats. I haven't lived with a dog since I was little but I'm sure someday I'll get one, one who needs a home and ends up with me. Animals are fine, the only species I have anything against are the humans.

8. I can't think of any species of animal that I dislike just because
of their species (with the possible exception of humans sometimes). Obviously there are some species I don't want to spend close personal time with - e.g., anything large and carnivorous, or venomous, or otherwise likely to harm me or make me itch. But to say "I don't like cats" or "I don't like dogs" - to reject an entire, essentially harmless species - makes no sense to me. Maybe you wouldn't want them as a pet for a particular reason (size, expense, etc.), but to actually dislike them? I don't especially want a pet Newfoundland dog, for example, because of its size, but I don't dislike them.

Not all animals would be suitable pets for me, but I like them. All of them.

12. I dislike them. I would never harm or mistreat a cat.
In fact there are some outside cats that I feed. They kill gophers. I live in the country and do not actually own them.

5. I actually got a cat from a dating website
Edited on Tue Oct-04-11 05:49 PM by Crazy Dave
No kidding. I met the woman who owned her (the cat) online but we did not hit it off. A couple of months later she calls me saying, "hey...you're a cat person...my new apartment doesn't allow pets and I was thinking of turning her (the cat) loose on her own if nobody can take her".

I told her I would take the cat and felt even more confirmed that I made the right choice in not wanting to have a relationship with her.

Some people just get snarky when they are sitting at my table and the cats decide to sit in the guest's soup.

Hey, it's the cats' home, too!

13. It's easy, if you don't care for my cats, the door is -------------->
And on the other hand, I had a close relationship that started because the other person couldn't keep her hands off

....one of my kitties.
