"When Bullying Backfires: Asperger’s Student Voted Homecoming Princess"
14-year-old Rachel Sampson has been voted homecoming princess at her high school in Poway in southern California. Rachel has Asperger’s Syndrome; as her mother, Kathleen Sampson, says of her, “Rachel has a lot of friends, but she doesn’t socialize outside of school, that’s a little too difficult for her right now.” As a cruel prank, some students put Rachel’s name on the ballot for homecoming princess. But then, after other students learned about this, they rallied and voted for Rachel — and she won.

1. I like that!
I saw a movie on Lifetime called "Queen-Sized" about the same thing. The main character was a trooper -- they messed with the wrong girl.

The shitforbrains who tried to be cruel, HA! IN YOUR FACE! My sweet niece won homecoming queen, she really wasn't so sweet afterward.

7. Maybe it is just a phase
Or maybe it is living in a small town where dad is a big fish. It wasn't just being homecoming queen, there were other factors. :hi:

10. I hope this is a good thing
I doubt if she "ran for" the honor, may not want the crown, or the attention.

If it stops the bullies, great, but I have doubts about that.
