My thoughts for the season opening of True Blood (episode #1 AND #2 spoilers)
If you have HBO there is a good chance you can access HBOGO online and you can watch episode #2, which btw blows episode #1 out of the water. If you can't access HBOGO then I've read where the 2nd episode is available at various download sites.

My thoughts.

Every year there seems to be one big-time badass. Season #1 was Rene, Season #2 was Maryann, Season #3 was Russell Edgington. I think this season they're about to blow all 3 of those out of the water. I had first questioned the casting of Fiona Shaw as Marna. Marna was suppose to be a Witch who had a crush on Eric and used her powers to try and control him. Fiona Shaw was the last person who came to mind when the cast the part. But after watching 2 episodes, I think Shaw is going to be the reigning queen of the True Blood superbadasses.

I'm tired of reading these boards question how Tara could turn into a lesbian. First, I would suspect that since she is also attracted to men she's probably bisexual. Second, if you went thru in the matter of months the type of relationships that Tara had gone too (a shapeshifter, a true love controlled by a maenad and a psychopath vampire) I suspect you might explore your sexuality somewhere else. BTW Tara looked gorgeous!

I loved how they found a way to move True Blood forward in time. If you think about it, the first 3 seasons of True Blood happened in less than 3-4 months. I mean in season #3 we found out that Arlene was pregnant by the crazy-ass boyfriend she had in season #1. I thought it was a perfect way to move the season forward a year and advance a few of the storylines. Definately made it an interesting first start.

If Bill were a RL human character he'd be John Ensign or David Vitter. He's a sleazeball republican politican in vampire form. And clearly he's following the same policy that Nan promotes - Vampires don't need humans anymore with True Blood available to them and yet still keep a few humans on stash for feeding. It really pissed me off that he couldn't even see that Sookie was hurting, was still in love with him. Perhap if he reached out to her when he discovered her return he'd have his vampire crack source back again. But Bill seems to be too caught up in Vampire politics and without a doubt he's gonna lose her to Sookie.

Ok let me figure this out. Eric bought Sookie's house to protect her (and have the right to come and go as he please since he doesn't need permission to enter a house he owns). But doesn't that give every other vampire the right to enter a home that is owned by a vampire. I mean this whole policy of vampires not being allowed to enter a human home without permission was the one thing that helped protect humans. Now Eric took that away from Sookie which could leave her more vulnerable to attacks.

Seriously, I think the show would be 100xs better if we just ended the Arlene and her psycho baby storyline. When she's on the TV it's the equivelent of a commerical bathroom break. It's 3 minutes I have available to step away from the TV. I'm not sure what's up with Tommy and Mrs. Fortenberry but that was very creepy. And maybe it's me but they took some of the magic out of the Hoyt/Jessica storyline.

1. I was with ya up to this:

I thought right up to the last Sookie, that Bill was gonna lose Sookie.

Eric being the owner of Sookie's house shouldn't allow him to enter without permission. Do you really think mystical forces concern themselves with real estate transactions and title searches? That seems pretty lame to me.

in that last sentence. I make mistakes like that from time to time as well.

As for the house issue. I mean, its magic, so presumably magical forces know who owns the house.
