Howard Dean is STILL awesome!!!
-

I remember when Howard Dean shot himself in the foot in Iowa back in 2004, and I also remember that some folks here predicted we'd never hear from him again. Boy, were they wrong. He has been in the news since then almost daily. The news hasn't always been "BIG NEWS", but nevertheless:

New DNC Chair Showers Howard Dean With Praise, Says She’ll Ask Him For Ideas

==========

He was the first to recognize the legal hassles gay couples faced, and although he was "technically" forced by the courts to do it, and even though he was warned by his party that it might ruin his political career, he signed the bill into law anyway, because (as he said), "It's the right thing to do." As a result, he almost lost his next election for Governor.

He used the internet to fund raise and organize his followers like no else had ever done before. He wasn't the first, but he was the first to use it in such a way that told all future presidential candidates how important the internet could and will become.

He was one of the first to come out against the War in Iraq. Kucinich was the first. Kerry had his problems with it, because when he told everyone he was against it, he had to also explain why he voted for it.

He used his time as DNC chair to begin establishing a greater democratic infrastructure at the local level in all 50 states. He was ridiculed for this of course, probably by the same people who said we'd never hear from him again, but this has helped the democratic party big time since then.

!!!HOWARD DEAN (was and still) IS AWESOME!!!

3. I was going to say...
-

...he is smarter than our last president for sure, but since "most" everyone was and still is smarter, that really wouldn't have been much of a compliment. Hehehe.

But regardless, he IS smart.

I was thinking the same thing about GD, and I will as soon as this falls off the chart. Dean is ALWAYS in the news.

When I read the article about the new DNC chair, the comment section was ripe with anti-Dean folks complaining about the the 50-state plan. What is wrong with these people?

2. Except for the part where you say he shot himself in the foot (he didn't
the media assassinated him), I totally agree. People Powered Howard speaks for me!

4. So true...
-

...but still his scream WAS bizzare.

Since I was (and still am) a big Dean fan (and even voted for him in the caucus thing here in WA state back in 2004, and even attended two of his speeches), his scream sounded OK by me (in context), but (and here is where you are right) the media edited it out of context, and I have to say that it (the way they did it) did make it sound bizzare, but that's just me,

7. I don't think his scream was bizarre.
It was only deemed bizarre because the media filtered out the sound of the crowd to emphasize his voice.

(EDITED "make more sense" to "makes more sense")

...the media took him out of the race, but couldn't stop him from getting things done anyway.

It just pisses me off when the "right" glibly says "liberal" media. The media only looks liberal,
because liberalism makes more sense (on average) than conservatism does.

In the interest of full disclosure, sometimes liberals piss me off too, but that's a whole 'nother topic. Hehehe,

10. Maybe someone who screams with enthusiasm
in the beginning also has enough enthusiasm to carry through with the ideas expressed during his campaign.
