One 17lb cat better be glad that Best Buy didn't ask alot of questions
About 3 months ago my humogous cat Abbott jumped off the bed and unfortunately my good laptop was on the floor next to the bed. You can guess where he landed. Seventeen pounds of fur pouncing 3 feet down onto a laptop can possibly lead to an unhappily ever after story.

I rarely buy extended warranties because I do try to take good care of my stuff. But hell with a cat anything that can happen will. The motherboard & hd survived; however the screen did not. Since my warranty was soon running out I took it in to see if they would fix it for free. If they said 'no', I could always use the laptop as my replacement desktop - the computer worked fine, just not the screen.

They fixed it, for free - no questions asked.

1. Lot of people here slam Best Buy, but I have always
had good customer service from them. And never paid a dime.

2. I have an 18 pound cat...
so far, he's only attacked and damaged the washing machine lid...I am petrified for the day he sits on the laptop...

I love Best Buy....brought from them for years in Miami and Lexington, KY...never had bad service, bad deliveries or bad products. I know people bash them but so far, so good...glad they fixed your laptop....

6. I also have an 18-lb. cat
I have to pry him off the keyboard while I'm typing or moving my mouse, and, dammit, he hurts! Thank God I have a desktop; if I had a laptop I wouldn't be typing this message.

3. Uhmmm. Our 22lb cat, Roosevelt, has only damaged our bladders when he
and his partner in crime, Sonia, get hungry when the sun come up.

4. You ever notice how, the bigger the cat, the smaller the feet?
Our 10 pounder walks around on sleds, distributing the already paltry weight so you can't even feel it. But the 20+ pounder, he apparently teeters around on pencil-sized twigs, and manages to plant all that pointy weight exactly where it will do the least good (usually some place groinal)...

10. I'm not so sure about that. My 7 pounder feels like she's walking
on her knuckle bones. Then, when she does settle, she always wants to "make biscuits" with the tips of her claws exposed just enough to poke through whatever clothes I have on.

9. My cats do not like being on top of me. Neither of them do it
They'll lay up right next to me or snuggle by my side. But in general if I put a cat on top of me he/she will scamper off immediately.

At first I was upset that I didn't get that thrill in life. But if I sleep on the sofa - the big one will let me spoon him

5. I don't remember cats being so "stout" when I was growing up.
I have 3 that are well into high teens on weight.

A siamese with a spare tire is just kind of odd to me.

I know what you mean though....cats, tend to save up their "not so graceful" moments for one big event.
