1. I just tried my first one, a Mexican Squirt.
It was OK, not the party in my mouth I was expecting though. Probably won't be paying $1.50 for another one.

3. Meh. I've tasted it. Not worth the extra price.
And your answer is invalid because it's not on the list.

***shakes angry fist at Orrex in defeat***

I tried Mexican cane Coke at an upscale Mexican restaurant once. I expected a taste scensation but it just tasted like regular Coke to me.

18. Then your tastebuds are faulty.
That's what you get for not using the proper iProducts when you purchased the drinks made with cane sugar

19. I can tell the difference, sure.
I simply don't find the taste of cane sugar cola to be the life-changing, magical experience that it's professed to be.

What kills me is the looking-down-one's-nose-ism about people who either accept or prefer non-cane sugar drinks!

20. Yep. The texture is way different too.
Once you taste the difference, drinking a syrup Coke is like drinking...well syrup.

5. Because it's impossible to buy...
anything else but it around here unless I go to the city.

Seriously, it's the ONLY type sold here.

6. Believe it or not, they're not as sweet
HFCS makes things cloyingly sweet. At least to my palate.

8. I prefer stevia but most of the companies that use real sugar in
Edited on Thu May-05-11 10:33 PM by Zorra
their products are usually small companies that make higher quality products that are far superior to similar products made by giant multinational corporations. And HFCS makes me feel like shit after I drink it.

9. HFCS and I don't get along.
Makes me sick in a way that I won't describe in detail here. Suffice it to say it's just not a good scene. :puke:

10. HFCS drinks are "heavier" or "thicker" than sugar drinks
I don't give a crap what the corn lobby says, there IS a difference. And I guarantee you I could take a blind test and tell you after one drink which was which. I drink a Mt. Dew every morning (no coffee for me), and the ones with real sugar are far superior. The weird thing is that the ones with real sugar actually taste much closer to the diet drinks with aspartame. A slight taste that is not bitter, but is so close to that I can't think of any other way to describe it.

11. To me, real sugar sodas DO taste better
especially colas. Not that I drink all that much soda, but there's a sharpness to flavors (particularly cola) with real sugar that utterly eludes the literally "syrupy" sludginess of HFCS-containing drinks. And Whole Foods real-sugar ginger ale is teh yum!

15. I can honestly tell the difference. There is a reason why real chefs use real sugar, not corn syrup.
Edited on Fri May-06-11 02:39 PM by Dr Fate
It's b/c it really does taste better.

If you want to eat and drink inferior garbage b/c it's cheaper or funny or ironic or whatever, then go for it!!!

There is a reason why you dont see anyone on Top Chef or the Food Network pouring corn syrup into any of their recipes- they all use real sugar instead.

LOL! I did not know that natural sugar was trendy or hip or whatever- most chefs and food experts know that it has been the superior, better tasting product all along.

17. I think it tastes better
but the truth is I don't drink much soda -- not because I want to be one of those "I don't drink soda" people, but because I was drinking more (mostly diet) soda than I was comfortable with, and so decided to try to limit my soda intake.
