Jessie has a lump on her back.
Jessie is our two year old Sheltie that I talk about kind of incessantly here. ;) Anyway I was brushing her and found an olive sized lump on her back. She has had sebaceous cysts before, which is what I am hoping this is. But this one does not have a head on it so I don't want to pop it. (Which is what the vet told us to do) Anyway, she goes in at 4:30 today to check it out. I'm just asking for some positve, let it be an oil pocket vibes...Thanks :hi:

1. Good wishes for Jessie!
What a beautiful Sheltie. We had one that lived to be about 14, I think. Boy, he was an exciteable thing. I miss him though.

2. She can get pretty excitable, plus she's a drama queen.
She busted out the insert in our screen door with her in out in antics yesterday. That and if you walk too close to her and she feels like you haven't given her attention, she will yelp like you have stepped on her.

Thanks! :hi:

4. Most of the time lumps like that are just fatty deposits.

Usually nothing to worry about. Hope that's all it is.

Good luck.

6. Good lookin' dog..
We have a 14 yo Norwich with a similar lump on the rt shoulder that turned out to be a lipoma. We had it removed because it was uncomfortable for her but they're not dangerous.

Hope all goes okay.

20. How odd... we're going to the vet for the same thing today
Our dog has a big lump on the side of his face. It just showed up yesterday and we thought we'd give it a day to see if maybe it's just a knot from banging his face on the corner of the wall. (He's clumsy like that)

But, it doesn't look any better today. :-(

Let's wish each other good luck and good news at the vets.

36. ****Update****** Jessie has what amounts to as a giant zit.
Phew! The vet said she's kind of young to be getting them already, but that it's nothing to get to worried about unless it get's infected. So she's fine, weighs 25 pounds and got her heartworm meds. I spent 1 hour brushing her today just to have the vet tell me I should "brush her more often" :eyes: hello? It's muddy out. Again, thanks all for your positive vibes...they worked, just like they always do!!! :grouphug:

And much more *petite* than I had imagined. 25 pounds? My dog weighs more than me! LOL It's a good thing he's so sweet. If we crossed my cats personality with my dogs physical presence.....well...I shudder to think about it!
