Please send vibes for my dog...
My Sugar or as I like to call her Lulu is having surgery today. Last week they found a mast cell tumor, and they're removing it today. They have to get all of it, which means taking a large part of the surrounding area. She'll be 7 this year, she's not just a dog she's my buddy.

18. Thank you...
it's at the base of her spine, right before where her tail would start. Boxers are prone to this type of tumor. Plus she has a cornea laceration..probably from playing with my other dog, Izzie. It seemed to be healing then got worse. She's having a heck of a time right now. I just want her to feel better.

28. is this a bone tumor?
I'm really curious because right now my beastie has a knee ligament tear but since we're still going through the diagnosis process there is still a very slim possibility that it may be a bone tumor but only because the symptoms are so similar. It's really more like something that just needs to be positively ruled out, and I'm really sure that it's an ACL injury... but still, just the mention of tumor needing to be ruled out positively gave me a scary jolt.

I know how you feel. I'm devastated because of my doggie's health problems and far more than he is. Hell, he's practically oblivious. Funny how dogs are so much more accepting of their hurts then we are about them.

She looks so lovely and such a picture of health it's so hard to imagine something so serious is going on with her. Poor sweet lovey. :( I wish I could get nice photos of my beastie like this but I can never seem to capture much of anything other than a close up of his butt or the insides of his nostrils. As a pup he was so photogenic, but once he got to be about a year old whenever the camera came out he was either sticking his face or his bum into it.

I wouldn't worry about the eye thing unless it bothers her. My previous beastie had an eye infection that eventually led to blindness in that eye, and I didn't have any idea in the world he couldn't see out of it. The vet had said he would probably lose his vision in that eye, but I assumed it would be apparent if it happened, so I was just floored when he said at a later visit that he was totally blind in that eye. Dogs are damn amazing getting along with vision in only one eye. They rely more on their senses of hearing and smell then they do on their vision anyway. Ever noticed how a dog often can't seem to see something that's right in front of them like a bunny or something like that unless it moves? Or they can't seem to find a piece of food with just their eyes even when it right THERE and use there nose to find it? Even if she totally loses her vision in that eye I swear you won't be able to tell. It's really quiet extraordinary.

21. ****UPDATE****
I talked to the vet, and Lulu is resting after surgery. He's sure he got all the tumor and a good amount of the surrounding area, he also had to remove one by her butt. He's going to send both to the lab and get them staged.

Thanks to all for the well wishes and vibes.

26. Good thoughts going out to you.
My little pug could almost be Lulu's mini-me. Beulah is my best buddy (with exception of my spouse, and sometimes that's debatable), she sleeps with me, wants to share my meals, let's me know when I need a bath and accompanies me to the bathroom.
