started painting again - haven't done it in years
here's a time lapse video of where I am so far. It still needs a lot of work - some fixing, some figuring out stuff, etc. but it felt really good to do.

3. thanks! A variety of reasons - a bit burned out and then entropy
like stopping exercising or whatever. It feels good to do it again.

5. My grandfather took it up at age 80, loved doing it
One of his very first was his impression of the American corporate boardroom:

My grandfather was one very cool character.

12. He made it to age 102 with all his marbles intact
Definitely an inspiration to all the generations that followed.

That painting hangs in a prominent place on my wall to this day. My siblings and I argued a little over which of
his paintings who would get, but there was never any question that "The Blockheads" was mine.

9. update
still working on it but here's the next round. There are some more things to fix, I am nowhere near done with the light/shadows/color and eventually adding some other elements to it.

10. As someone who dabbled in painting awhile back, I love your work!
Btw, I had a great art teacher who taught us economic tricks, such as making our own brushes for painting leaves. He used a hollowed-out shotgun shell (the smallest hair curler works, too), then he wrapped a bunch of rubber bands around one hand & secured the middle length of them with a pipe cleaner (a long twist tie or floral wire works too), then pulled it through the opening of the shell & cut the end of the rubber bands to create the bristles. It worked like a charm & it created such a life-like texture that one would think someone with years of experience had painted it.

The life forms such as yours are the most difficult & my hat's off to you, unpossibles.
