Back in March, my wife promised me that at 230, I could make cruise reservations for wherever I wanted to go.

Any suggestions? I'll be leaving from Los Angeles.

I went to the website below, and adopted the 1300 calorie/day diet. I followed it religiously for a couple of months, then started substituting certain entrees for others.

I'm goin' on a cruise!

I"m on a 2300/day diet, and I'm finding calorie counting a HELL of a lot easier then any other diet I've ever seen

2. My dear cherokeeprogressive!
Biggo congrats, sweetie!

I'm proud of you, so much!

I hope that you're doing what you can live with for the long term, instead of just trying to get the pounds off...

And are you working out? That really helps!

Alas, I have zero suggestions...except maybe the inside passage to Alaska, which is something I've always wanted to do. I have zero interest in Mexico, but if you want to go there, by all means go!

Have a wonderful time, and enjoy your new more slender self! You are doing one of the most important things you can for your longevity!

6. Hey, that's great, man!
Congrats and well done for sticking to it. Losing weight is very hard. I lucked out with it myself. After failed attempts I was put on medication for another reason and just lost a bunch of it. But, it certainly isn't easy to do it the old fashioned way, way to go!

14. Terrific!

Made myself walk around several decks before and after the endless cruise meals. (Alaska trip) Enjoyed the fresh air a lot that way.

18. Congrats! It's hard work. I lost 75 lbs four years ago. I've kept it off but I have
more to lose and I've been stuck. But I'm still happy about those first 75.

Depending on when you want to go I highly recommend Alaska. You'll want to do it mid-summer of course so if you want to embark soon this isn't the choice. But man is it ever a great trip. It was so beautiful and vast. We saw so many whales and other wildlife.

At the various ports, we skipped the tourist shops and did things like ziplining, hiking and rafting. Some things were coordinated by tour operators, but the hiking we did on our own. I searched for trails (online before we left) that would would be easy to access from the area where the ships dock. There were many, and they were gorgeous. Plus it helped keep the weight off because there is a LOT of food on those boats.

23. Great Job!
I am also trying to loose some weight. I am down from 247 in January to 223 this morning. Not a huge loss in relation to yours, but every day I try a bit more. All the best to you!

25. Congrats... Tough slog losing weight...
I am working my way down from about the same weight. Got some ways to go.

Take one of the party cruises to Mexico. usually younger bunch, lots of stuff to do, and less emphasis on food...

DON"T GO ON AN ALASKA CRUISE unless you are about a million years old and all you plan to do is gain weight. Geezer cruise if you ask me.

Thanks for sharing the site. I bookmarked it.

As for a suggested cruise. It doesn't much matter. They're all fun. But I once did a cruise in Alaska and loved seeing the spectacular beauty there.
