Pink Floyd - "The Wall" - Round-about goes both ways.
Okay, I know this is petty, but after watching "The Wall" too many times to count, I just noticed that the young Pink (in the park) gets on the round-about when it is going clockwise. Just prior to that, it is going counter-clockwise. Shit like that bothers me. Just after that, he finds the scroll from King George and there's no rubber stamp "signature" on it.

Like I said, it is petty. I'm watching it on another computer right now (27").

1. In most movies, it would bother me. In The Wall...
who's to say it's not intentional?

3. You know, it just might be.
I hadn't thought of that.

6. That's what I thought, too
The movie isn't exactly following a linear or logical storyline.

2. i was watching The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe a couple weeks ago.
And there are a lot of continuity problems, but one in particular really stood out - it's a scene in the snow and Edward is talking to the others, and there's snow on Edward's jacket. But every time the camera comes to him, the snow is in a different pattern. And not because it was snowing and new stuff was falling; because the jackass director, instead of shooting the scene properly, was clearly shooting the scene in some jackass way over a long period and having every character do their lines separately and whatnot.

Shit like that annoys the shit out of me.

I'm tired of movies being shot in three and four second increments.

4. Yeah, It Bothers Me As Well

Here is a great link to all things movies. Often they list continuity problems called "goofs." http://www.imdb.com/

I always like when they show a character sitting at a bar and his cigarette has just been lit. They cut away and then back and his cigarette is just a butt. Same with drinks, etc.

Many movies actually hire (or assign) people to watch for continuity problems. They are always on set and their main job is to watch for things like that. Hey, I could do that job.

As far as The Wall goes...

I really resisted seeing The Wall at first. I am such a PF fan and The Wall was a really important movie for me. I didn't want to have someone else's interpretation competing with my own imagination. As it turned out, I was right. The Wall was somewhat of a disappointment. I mean, it was okay. But it could never match what my imagination pictured.

5. Near the beginning, there's a shot with him with a butt and a full shaft of ashes.
My dad did that same shot in the late 60's (I helped - like 5 years old). He put a needle through the cigarette, mounted it, burned it (before they had burn-out rings in the paper), and the ashes stayed in place. Cool trick.
