For my dad, who's been sick with some nasty pneumonia like crap for a week. Went to the doctor yesterday for a recheck, and they called the paramedics to take him to the ER - didn't like the sound of his heart. Thank god I work across the street from the hospital. No heart attack or blood clots but massive amounts of fluid around his heart. They drew it off with a needle yesterday and left a drain in, and it's still draining quite a bit. Prayers and vibes that it drains completely, that it's just a virus and not some auto immune thing, and that he comes home soon.

Fluid around the heart is gone, draining fluid around both lungs. Now the concern is that after doing that, his heart rate is still double what it should be, 140. medicine isn't touching it.. so now they've determined he has an "a-flutter" heart rhythm, and will check tomorrow for blood clots.

15. UPDATE: My dad is on his way home

To his house, and my mom, and his girlfriend (the cat he rescued last summer). Thank you God, for no heart attacks or blood clots. The cardiologist shocked his heart this morning, which put him back into a normal sinus(sp) rhythm. That said, the pericardium (sp) is starting to fill with fluid again, so he has to go back to the cardiologist on Tuesday to get checked out.

Thank you everyone, for the vibes and prayers and kind words. I don't know how I would have made it through the weekend without you all. Consider yourselves hugged.

Because my dad is on his way back to the ER. His heart is back in an A-fib beat, where the top is beating twice as fast as the bottom. Prayers, vibes, warm thoughts, etc. He's scared and so are we.

After having his heart shocked back into a normal rhythm. Cardiologist still isn't quite sure what's causing it to slip into an abnormal one, which is bothering everyone, the not knowing, but he's ok. Thanks everyone for the vibes and prayers.
