What is going on with Google?

When I Google a subject I am redirected to a commercial site selling god knows what with no relation to the subject I was googling. I can't click to get back to the Google page either, it just refreshes on the same site again and again.

Is anybody else having this problem with Google?

1. You've got a virus.

I had the same problem a month or two ago--it was a nasty little thing called the Help Assistant virus and it would redirect all my Yahoo and Google searches.

Here's what I did to kill the damn thing.

Go to this website:

Follow the instructions in this thread first:

After you've saved all your logs, post a thread on the forum and someone will give you instructions on how to remove the virus.

It took me about 2-3 hours for the whole process, but it worked.

I'm not very tech saavy, either. Just follow the instructions to the best of your ability and hopefully they'll be able to pinpoint the problem for you.
