3. Absolutely love that song. I'm in a big 90s phase right now
I feel like its a really underappreciated decade of music that was full of some really great music, especially in the alternative rock scene.

6. You're totally forgetting Ace of Bass
Or Base. Whatever they were called, you're totally forgetting them.

9. Base. I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes. And it said One headlight was the best.

8. Maybe, maybe not. But I'll tell you this:
Their cover of Heroes was so bad that it made David Bowie regret writing Song for Bob Dylan, and I don't blame him.

4. Sometimes I wonder why Jakob didn't do more--that being
so good. Just a bit like I wonder why Julian Lennon didn't do more than "Vallotte"

Well one other great hit:

They both have the talent, but maybe the problem is living up to the finished products of their famous fathers' works? I think both really did get the gift we'd call "talent". It just couldn't add up to their parents' at their best, and that was like a millstone. Jakob and Julian might not be legendary-quality, but they are better-than-average talents. Should they suffer from being descended from rock-gods? They are like rock demigods. We should allow them that much. But I think Julian rocks a litle harder than Oasis--should that count? And Jakob wrote songs that could go up against Radiohead, who are inexplicably lionized. Where's his parade?

(That's at least got the vibe of a "Levi Stubbs's Tears"--not that I think Jakob Dylan yet has Billy Braggs' sophistication. So I give him credit for not totally sucking at minimum, and being as good as really good at best.)

5. Although, reply to myself--this would be what really good
would sound like:

And it isn't necessarily commercial, just awesome rock.

11. That's just it--

How do I measure this against the stuff I'm hearing on regular radio? I Don't know why this isn't commercially all over, as good as it is. He's deep, lyrical, evocative. And unlike his dad, you can understand waht he's saying and he's easy on the eyes. But he ain't American Idol.
