I want to take my dog for a walk to the grocery store
and while there, I want to go into the store and buy a few things.

How do people do this? I can't even imagine leaving my dog alone unattended outside tied up to something. NEVER!

So what to do? Help! She and I both want to walk, and we need things at the store.

1. Phone a friend
Walk together, she waits with the dog while you run in, you all walk home. Sounds like fun!

3. When I lived downtown everyone used to leave their dogs
Edited on Thu Apr-29-10 03:38 PM by Roon
tied up outside of he grocery store while they shopped. It got out of hand and they posted a sign reminding people it was illegal and cops started ticketing. That practice stopped pretty quick.

OT..across the street is a coffee shop with an outdoor patio. Everyone brings their dogs and sometimes CATS and sit outside and sip coffee.

On my block all the vendors have signs saying that their well behaved dogs are welcomed into their stores. Save for the restaurants and grocery store.

7. Really?? I do that at the Petsmart, but a grocery store?
Honestly, she'd probably behave just fine, she loves that sort of thing.

But it seems there's probably some sort of health code or something. No?

9. Now that I'm thinking about it, I believe there's probably a sign on the door
about only service animals being allowed in.

They should have a kennel out front where you pay a quarter to lock it or something. Except there'd be stupid people who forget and leave their animals in there or something.
