3. Nothing.
I was going to go shopping today but didn't feel like walking in the rain ([plus I have to go out tomorrow anyways), so I just skipped food for today, an idea that sounded better 7 hours ago than it does now. My cat is starting to look like a prime rib.....

4. Chicken tomato soup. Multigallon pot on the stove top a month.
Boils every day. Once a week, I dump in more chicken, crushed tomato, carrot, celery, and spices. Ladle it over stir-fried veggies with a chunk of dark bread on the side. The bones crush easily between your fingers into red marrow and chalk: you get a bone, you can either chew it and swallow it or hand it back to me to smush and drop back into the pot

11. It's easy. I'm lazy. Buy chicken in bulk, drop it in a big big pot of water
and just barely simmer it all day, say six hours or more, til the meat falls off the bone. If you keep it diligently covered when not in use, and bring to to a very slight boil for twenty or twenty five minutes daily, you're okay: I personally like to ladle it out boiling. If you skip boiling for a couple of days and lift the cover a few times to peek at the cold soup, the little microbes will colonize it and you'll have gallons of foul-smelling toxicity instead of good soup. After a day or two, all the small bones completely disintegrate on their own

Many veggies (as well as stuff like potatoes or beans) would rather quickly form a sludge on the bottom that easily scorches and ruins the flavor, so I do my veggies separately when I need them. For some complexity of flavor, I do keep some whole carrot and celery in the pot plus (say) onion, garlic, some nice herbs, and whole peppercorn

If I can get my act together, I think I'll try to add a constant crock of sourdough rising on the side
