Woman with 3 kids corresponds with a guy doing life without parole for murdering his MIL. She marries him. Moves her kids every time he's moved. Goes on welfare. Connects her mother up with one of his prison friends. Won't let him take a paying job in prison because she won't be able to see him enough. Now she wants the kids to be adopted by the guy.

What the hell is this?

they will take anything. And they figure someone in prison can't get any better offers so he'll never leave or cheat on them.

I haven't the show mentioned, but this woman looked like the "beehive-cat glassed" woman in the Far Side comics. She volunteered to teach inmates and one married her - hoping it would help his case in parole - it never did.
