1. Are you, perhaps, part Golden Retriever?
Or have I just betrayed my total ignorance of some classic movie line?

4. No, it's just a single-letter copycat thread.
I'll let you determine which letter is added/subtracted ;)

2. Hello, kentauros! Thinking of you today.
Watched "Father Ted." "My Lovely Horse." ;)

5. Hi Elshiva!
How are you? :hi:

I need to buy that series (among others) because I need a good laugh from British humor, beside Monty Python, Little Britain and Graham Norton :P

7. I'm very ill, but I'm happy and grateful.
"My lovely horse, running through the field
Where are you going, with your fetlocks blowing in the wind?

I want to shower you with sugar lumps, and ride you over fences
Polish your hooves every single day, and bring you to the horse dentist

My lovely horse, you're a pony no more
Running around with a man on your back, like a train in the night..."

Loved "the video." :)

8. "We have to get rid of the sax solo, Dougal!"

Sorry to hear about your illness, but am also glad to hear you are remaining happy

I'm slowly reading a couple of books that are inspiring me to better thoughts and happiness, though one is nothing more than Greg Mortenson's account of building a school in Northern Pakistan ("Three Cups of Tea"). The other is Wayne Dyer's book on the Tao Te Ching ("Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life"), and it's great, too :D

12. Oh, Taoism is awesome!
Such great poetry. Are you reading the Tao Te Ching, too? I've got to read that again. So simple, so profound.

:)
Dougal wanted to write about "loving the horse all night."

13. Although Dyer includes each verse
he also includes essays with each verse on how to make use of it in your life. I've never read any of his books, but always liked his way of presenting philosophy and such :)

I guess Dougal was going for a little bit of Equus and Father Ted knew it :P

14. Dougal is an Irishman from a very rural area.
Horses are like gods in that area.

Actually, Dougal was being an clueless idiot, of course. He probably didn't even know what he was saying.

15. Well, of course he didn't!
He's a clueless idiot of an Irish Catholic clergyman! :P

Here, this has no humor but is an actual nice song about a horse :D

 I've never heard a song about centaurs, have you?

17. No, I haven't either.
The closest is some lyrics in one of Portishead's songs that only sounds like the word centaur.

However, a quick search of youtube found the following that has a little flavor of Oingo Boingo to it:

19. You're welcome!
:D

The only other instances were either really bad garage band stuff or death metal, most likely relating only to those centaurs used in the lower circles of Hell...

;) If there are centaurs there, it's not much of a hell is it?

21. I can't remember which number is that particular circle
but I think it's the one with the boiling river of blood. The centaurs are there with bows and arrows to make sure none of the damned try and get back out again :o

Try this site; it's pretty good for info and art: http://danteworlds.laits.utexas.edu

22. Oh my goodness! You do know a lot more than me.
I've never read Dante all the way through. I understand if they have bows and arrows, that would scare the crap out of me enough to stay in the river of blood. They are fierce.

24. I've only read Dante's Inferno
(and Larry Niven's version "Inferno"), though not for the "pleasure" of reading it. I had to take a class in ancient texts for art history requirements. Fascinating class and a great professor, like my first art history class. No, I'm no art history expert; just a guy with a fairly useless graphic arts degree :P

Okay, the cat is bugging me and I know why. Ah'll be bach in half an hour...

29. I wish I had that telent.
I do write shit for my own amusement and feel I write good dialog, but I have zero skills in actually putting a story together.

More's the pity, I have one of the coolest Godzilla stories never told in my head. ;)

And romance fiction pays the bills

You know there are computer programs that write romance fiction? Seems like I've heard some have become bestsellers, too. Maybe we're all in the wrong field...
