Edited on Fri Feb-05-10 11:06 AM by JCMach1
This should be fun and interesting. For the record, I am AB+.

7. I'm AB+ too, but I have already ruined my liver, spleen,
kidneys and stomach. My bloodshot eyeballs work pretty well, though.

31. I guess I never looked at it that way. Good point.
On a pass/fail basis, my organs would pass, on most days, anyway.

12. I used to get those calls... until the wasband had a false-pos HIV test 15 years ago
Despite extensive further testing on both of us, which conclusively proved that the positive result he supposedly had was indeed invalid, both of us were permanently barred from donation.

17. No, Everybody can take O- blood. That's why you always here them calling
for O neg blood on those emergency room shows. Because the hospital hasn't had time to find out the blood type yet and if the patient needs blood, then they can always take O neg.

THE most common blood type...

Yours is the second rarest, with only AB neg being the rarest.

15. I have no idea.
My mom, who knows everything about me, doesn't have that on record. I don't really care enough to find out, though I'm sure it's in some medical record somewhere.

28. I'm a B. Don't know if it's pos or neg.
My Dad is AB postive, Mom was O neg--and a nurse! She used to hide in the janitor closets when the ER staff went on a hunt for blood.

My sis and I both got B, but one of the reasons my parents only had 2 kids was because in the mid 50s, an RH negative mother's antibodies could turn on a positive fetus and cause birth defects. They can fix that now, I think.

Other than that, I have no clue (except that it's mostly reddish)...

I had no idea until I had a miscarriage. I thought that I'd have some clue when I found out my parent's blood types but it turns out that I could have been anything. My mom is A+. My dad is B+.

38. O- and they won't take my blood
I had jaundice twice as a child - I'm sure one was from mono, not sure about the other. Even though I paid $90 for a test to prove I didn't have hepatitis, the Red Cross says no. I feel guilty every time I hear a request for O- blood.
