Anyone here knowledgeable about collectibles, specifically,
Waterman pens and older silver (or silver-plated) flatware?

I need to get an idea of value... appreciate suggestions. Thanks!

1. we do have an expert in fountain pens on DU
Stinky the Clown. You can find him talking about them over in the Antiques and Collectibles forum.

6. Stinky lives just a few miles up the road from us. He's in GD quite a bit.

2. Check out replacements.com
They have all kinds of flatware, crystal, and china.

You can look up the silver pattern and get an idea of value.

From an amateur perspective most collectors want sterling sliver; silver plate, not so much.

4. thanks, supernova. I have a mix of sterling and silver plate -
just a jumble of various items from my grandmother -- plus a bunch of "state spoons".

I'll check out the site. Appreciate it. :hi:
