Large black lump in a potato?

So my bf, his mom, and I were having dinner at a local chain restaurant. He ordered a steak and a baked potato. He got halfway through the potato when he realized there was a large, ping-pong ball-sized lump in it. It was black-brown, hard, and kind of shiny. I've seen dark spots on potatoes before, but never one this large. I was eager to take it home with us but the manager insisted they had to keep it and show it to corporate. They had bf fill out an incident report and comped our entire meal. We snapped some photos of it on bf's phone and the bits of potato flesh and sour cream yielded some interesting images that looked like faces. One angle, I swear, looked like Barack Obama. Another was Roy Orbison. None that looked like Jesus, though.
