2. I'm watching
The shows I usually watch are on ABC so they are not on tonight. May as well watch the AMAs.

5. Me - back and forth between the (somewhat lame) AMAs and the football game.
GaGa was en fuego (almost literally) though. Loved it.

6. If Lady Gaga is a favorite to win an award, I'd best avoid it. nt

7. I usually watch, but this year
it's opposite a Bears game, so...I'll have to try to catch highlights online or something.

I have switched over a couple times briefly during commercials and such - caught Adam Lambert's performance, which was interesting - I haven't watched American Idol in a couple years, so I didn't really know who he was. Wasn't terribly impressed with his voice (though singing live there can be a lot of variables, so he might be better on a studio album), but his show was quite interesting - sort of reminiscent of 80s new wave, but with a more modern edge to it, was my impression.

10. Good lord...

That was a crazy performance. I'm going to have to marinate on it for a while to know what to think...

At the very least, he made a major impact. The Twitter universe is exploding with reactions - Lambert is the #1 trending topic.

19. I thought it was over the top...
i usually like adam but he needs to rely on his voice, not shoving men's faces into his crotch and making out with his keyboard player.

9. I watched parts of it.
While I admit that I was an Adam Lambert fan, I found his performance trashy and disgusting. Grabbing other people's crotches on the music awards is highly inappropriate.

11. well...
inappropriate for kids that may be watching, but delightful for the rest of us. I find his open sexuality delightful, but hope his musical talent doesn't get lost...

13. I find his open sexuality delightful too.. but I just wish he would have toned it down
and kept it to the kiss.

The kiss was great!

-and as far as his voice goes, I wish he would quit the screaming... he has a gorgeous voice and doesn't need to do it in every song (think "Mad World" on Idol).

17. I didn't find it sexy or
delightful and I'm no prude. It was raunchy, disrespectful and just plain nasty.

12. "I found his performance trashy"
I agree.

I wasn't disgusted by it by any means... but I thought it was very trashy for an awards show on a major network.

Whatever.. it's his right to do what he wants, but I found it trashy.

Call me a prude (I'm sure somebody will).

I still detest the tacky performance.

And the tacky album cover.

16. I flipped back and forth.
Lady Gaga was great. She can really sing! I loved the piano bit she did and the rest wasn't so over the top as to be a turn off; She seriously doesn't need all the theatrics. From what I heard tonight the girl has a real voice. wow.

Adam Lambert!? I agree with the others who said he was trashy- Tried way WAY too hard and came off looking like a real amateur.

The antics of the live performance aside, god that music fucking blows.
