1. Outback is best of those listed, but be prepared for
DUers to point fingers at you for supporting Bush donors. (I think I remember seeing them on the shitlist anyway)

14. Where Can We Find This?
Opensecrets.org or something?

I don't want to patronize Bush supporters.

I remember at one time there was this book called Shopping For A Better World and it listed companies in terms of minorities & women on their board, giving to charity, animal cruelty, etc.

9. Oh well, they are decent too
Unfortunately, last time I ate there I was ill, not from the food though (long story involving a long wait and drinking alcohol). I took most of it home and it was decent the second time around.

12. Do you have a Claim Jumper?
My husband and I tried our local Claim Jumper recently. The food was fairly good (we split a pizza) and so were the drinks. Claim Jumper also has interesting desserts.

17. Why go to a chain?
Surely there is a decent mom and pop restaurant around. My husband and I went to Neighbor's Mill today, and enjoyed made from scratch soup, a salad made with real greens (not iceberg lettuce), and freshly made and baked pizza. The quality of the food was excellent, and we helped the local economy.

18. Go local!
You'll be doing more for your local economy than you will by going to a chain where most of the profits end up in the hands of a select few far away.

21. We're back!!! Didn't go to Outback
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 08:20 PM by MrScorpio
We went to the Golden Palace, our favorite Chinese restaurant.

Outback had people hanging out the window waiting in line.

Boy!!! We're full... had the buffet. 50 million ways to make chicken and we sampled just about every one.

If I fall asleep on the keyboard, you'll know whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
