I really like this photo study of tract houses and how people have added their own personality to defeat the uniform nature of them.

2. i believe the term you're looking for is 'tract' housing.

when i met my future ex-wife she was living in a 'levit-town', built in the 50's. but by then all most every home had an addition of some description on the back.

3. You're right and it's probably not a good idea to post new threads

4. that was fun and gives me hope
I'm living in my dad's 1965 tract house, and it's probably going to be mine some day, even if for only a few years. I've been thinking of ways to update it, and looking at what the neighbors have been doing.

Thanks!
