Scarcity of jobs and other resources leads to lack of civility. No end in sight.

I'm starting to doubt there is anything that will make anything better. By the time resources are plentiful enough for people to be nice again, I will have perished of old age. This is just a very bad cycle in the civilization, and it will last the rest of my life and that of anyone old enough to be reading it on DU.

I'm tired.

1. I'm more optimistic
But it's easier to say that when you have a decent job and life is, in general, good for you at the current time. The number that scares me the most as far as our economy goes is the nearly 10% unemployment rate. When that starts going back down I'll feel a lot more comfortable.

I hope things start looking better for you here pretty soon.
