Had to get a new computer, old PC's hard drive died

It was 4 years old and the cost of repairs and a new hard drive was almost as much as a cheep new computer, so I just bought a new computer for 400 dollars, and even for that price it has 3 times the RAM, much faster processor, and twice the hard drive space of my old computer. Came with Windows 7, which came out the day I got the computer.

So that's why I hadn't posted much in the last 2 weeks.

1. Hard drives are cheap-500Gb for about $60

If somebody wanted that much to replace the drive and reinstall, they're trying to rip you.

2. Total it would have been around $200.

Plus I didn't have a recovery disk or anything to put on the new hard drive anyway. It just wasn't worth the money and hassle when the computer was 4 years old and another part could stop working any day.

3. I see 10 year old and older computers a lot.

Anything with moving parts, i.e. drives and fans may need to be replaced but everything else still works.
