RUN!!! Seriously the guy was blocking the door and was trying to get me to commit to 3 or 4 procedures that my insurance didn't cover. And he did a bad job on cleaning my teeth.

I went to a guy for a while who did cosmetic stuff and he hired mainly young, attractive women and I think gave them cosmetic procedures and had a tanning bed that they were expected to use.

Having dentist hooped several times in the past few years, I think all of them have attempted to push that one on me.

4. No, get this.

All I wanted was to have my teeth cleaned. It took THREE visits. I hadn't been in a long time but they weren't that bad. First visit the DH just did the scrap thing, the next two(one half of my mouth for each visit) they did the sonic thing with topical anesthetic. The DH was Okay, but they had the Dentist come in for the third visit to "consult" me on "our" long term dental plan. When I heard that I saw $$$ and I'm sure he did too. He wanted me back in a month so we could implement this plan. I told him "no way", then he shot me a look and said basically "You're on your own! Good luck, you'll probably get mouth rot for not listening to me and giving me large sums of cash!" Fuckin' dick.

5. Wish I could send you to my dentist, she's the best...

I spent 9/11 held hostage in my dentist's chair. That's the day I became political, watching that second plane hit, over and over, on a TV overhead tuned to CNN. I was scared witless and became determined to learn everything I could. Somebody on DU once suggested that I tell her, so I did, and we had quite a discussion. Turns out she's "one of us..." And she's also a terrific dentist. :-)
