iPod help please I get this message that says Do not disconnect

Please guys help me, this is getting frustrating, and what I am doing wrong. :( this is so stressful. Also for some reason the PC can not read my iPod so whenever I restart, I dont get taken to the move files screen. I feel like a fool :(.

1. I use a Mac & when my iPod shows that message...
it means to eject it from the desktop prior to removing it from the cradle.

2. you mean the firewire?
Its been out of it and I still get that sign. Man this sucks :(

6. You have a "Drive" connected. You'll see an icon on your desktop. Eject it
I don't "do" Windoze, but that's your problem. I don't know if it'd be E, F, G, or what for you. Eject it (virtually) and then it'll be ok to shut down.

7. I dont see an icon
I heard the beep that happens when I connected it but offically its not connected. :( Shit I think I might need a new one damn :(.

10. Hey guys thanks for all the suggestions but it still wont work
:( I tried resetting it but no use. So do you think I should just turn this back in and get a new one or do you think the problem is fixable. I also realize now that my computer isnt aware that my iPod is plugged in despite the fact that I hear the beep.
