Removing a bumper sticker?
Anyone have any tips on getting a bumper sticker off with a minimum of pain and mess? I've got an old one I want to replace with "Regime Change Begins At Home", and I don't want to destroy my bumper in the process. It's one of those plastic Saturn ones, if it helps. Thanks!

5. Put the new one directly over the old one.
I'm pretty lazy. It's a lot easier than getting the old one off. What a pain. (Unless it's a Howard Dean one. Then complete strangers will take it off for you when you're not around.)

7. No tip on removing but for future reference
Magnetic backing. Get some magnetic backing (online or from a local sign shop) and stick your stickers on the magnets. Then you can have multiple stickers depending on your mood. You can even go stealth and remove them when you visit that uber repuke cousin of yours.

That way I can take my ABB and Quagmire Accomplished stickers off when I park and not risk getting keyed, etc.

9. Not a solution..
But this is why I often lay bumperstickers below the back window on the felt (Assumes you have a sedan type car). (What's that area called?). Lame since driver rarely can see it, but no bad for parking lots.

10. A heat gun for starters and you can remove the gummy stuff with....
And this is one of my secrets......Dif Wallpaper Stripper.

Dif will get chewing gum out of a carpet....safely with no damage.

It'll take gummy adhesive off of anything.

19. Try 'Goo-Gone'
You can get it at Home Depot, or your local hardware store. The good thing is it doesn't use petroleum base (mineral spirits). I've used it to get labels off all kinds of things.

20. Zippo or Ronson lighter fluid (naphtha).
Dissolves the adhesive backing quite well. It's essentially the same stuff as what's sold as "Goof Off" or "Goo Gone" or all the similar brand names, but it's probably going to be a little cheaper (about $1.29-$1.59 for a 5-ounce can or bottle).

21. Too bad it's not a metal bumper, then you could...
pour gasoline over the car and ignite it. The other parts of the car might be affected, but the bumper would probably be OK.

That's why I hate plastic bumpers.
