Will Pitt is getting married in seven weeks! Yikes!
I'm gaining a fabulous daughter and wonderful in-laws! How good is this?!

They are getting married up here in a wonderful, classic New England church and the reception is at a working, not for profit farm. The rehearsal dinner is a BBQ at my house and the BBQ'ers are friends of mine who compete and have won countless BBQ titles. Really, how good is this?!

The wedding is on October 11th...the height of the fall foliage season. How good is that?!

This wedding has been in the works for almost a year but today it hit me. Its going to really happen. I'm going to be a "Mother of the Groom" and a "Mother in Law". Its funny but I see it as gaining another child and maybe some wee ones after that.

Wow! Just WoW! :bounce:  :toast: :hi: :loveya:

3. Oh, you've been preparing to be a mother-in-law alright. These words:

"maybe some wee ones after that..." are straight out of the mother-in-law playbook. :D

Congrats to you and the whole family, Raven. I hope it's the best kind of fall weather for the wedding.

9. It sounds like a perfect wedding day!
I hope it all goes well, and I'm sure you're as excited as hell. I had to wait 4 years for the "wee one", but he has been so worth the wait! I'm so happy for you, Will, and his bride-to-be.:bounce:

10. My dear Raven!
How exciting for you, and all of the family too!

We do expect lots and lots of great pics, OK?

Have a wonderful time at the wedding and all the associated festivities...and for all the years after as a mother-in-law!

Blessings on you all!

12. Lucky you! And I really mean that.
Dear MOG (Mother Of Groom),
How much easier it would have been if our daughter had gotten married where we live.
But she and her intended were 2000 miles away in San Diego at the time and so...away we went.
Three trips during the year before the big day.
Long distance weddings are 4 time more difficult than local ones.

And lucky you for wonderful in-laws.
My terrific son-in-law's immediate family is *ahem* 'dysfunctional'.
Even he doesn't get along with them.

And she's a lucky woman to get a mother-in-law like you.

Congratulations to you and to Will. I know the wedding will be sublime. How could it not be in New England in the fall?
I wish you and the happy couple all the best.

Now: The In-law Advice (which I'm sure you already know, but anyway...)
Unasked for advice is seldom (never?) welcomed.
Don't worry about spoiling the grandkids. It's expected and a lot of fun.
And last, but not least, the most fun you'll ever have with your offspring's family, and the most interesting discussions, will happen in the kitchen.
Usually with a glass or so of wine while cooking dinner.
:-)
