PSA: An important lesson that I learned as a teenager.

One of my many jobs back then was working in a high end china/gift/wedding shop.

A big part of my job was to gift wrap packages...they had to be wrapped professionally and very very quickly...and there was an art to this that I had to be trained in.

When I first started doing this, I was assembling a gift box (they had to be folded up to be assembled). The extremely hyper owner was watching me, and my hands were shaking because he was making me nervous.

He screamed "YOU NEED TO GO FASTER", ran up to me, pushed me out of the way, and grabbed the box out of my hand.

I told him to go fuck himself, picked up an empty gift box, and bounced it off his forehead.

He said "You're fired". I said "Fuck you" and walked out.

I went home and started thinking about how much I needed this damn job, so I went back and apologized. He apologized too, gave me a hug, etc. I got a raise shortly after this.

Moral of the story: If you need the job, don't fuck with the boss.
