What do I do with a cat that as adopted me, for the last several months one eye as I call him
shows up in my yard and sits while I weed the garden and surveys the chippies that I love. I know he/her is at a disadvantage due to one eye as far as hunting goes but he/she also has an eye on my parrot. I have never been a cat person but this one has captured my heart. My problem is I don't want my chippies hunted and my parrot terrified he is already skittish.

1. You take the cat to a vet. Make sure it's healthy and get all it's shots...
...and make it part of your life. It's really simple. I hope you both have a great life together. You will not regret one moment.

2. I think the cat already has owners but just chooses to spend the days with me.

4. If you think he's already got people, just give him some kitty treats
and let him hang out. If he doesn't have people, and you're not comfortable taking him, then get him to a vet and see if you can find a friend who wants to become a kitty slave. Please don't drop him at the pound. He'll likely end up being put down there. :(

6. Please make sure he has access to fresh water and shelter
If you're not certain that he has owners, you could put a collar on him (make sure it is expandable so he won't choke if he gets it hooked on something) and write your phone number on it and say: "Owner -- pls. call."
