4. Yeah, I saw it for the first time when I was 16 or 17... 20 odd years ago!
Before that, I'd only seen Lynch's Dune and The Elephant Man. Neither of them really prepared me for Eraserhead.

5. They are definitely not the same thing.
I haven't watched Eraserhead since I was about 16; I suppose I ought to give it another go now that I'm pushing 40.

OTOH, I'm not sure it would make a whole lot more sense now.

I remember thinking, "wow....wow..." and I wasn't even stoned :rofl:
