Anyone about to go off on spring break?
I am, and it'll be nice to be at home for a while with my two dogs, but there's an in-class quiz and two papers for when I get back.

1. Three classes tomorrow and that's it
It would normally be just one but another prof needed me to take two of hers so I said OK.

Then off for nine days! Yay!

And I let my classes off with no homework at all over the break.

and then I'll be off for a week. Unfortunately, I have an exam the Tuesday after we get back...and I get an exam back which I took yesterday, which I'm pretty sure I bombed.

5. Thanks for the words..

of encouragement...I'm hoping I atleast got myself a 30%. It was pretty bad...and that too, in all honesty, it shouldn't have been that difficult.

Either way, a few buddies and I got some drinks afterwards...Sometimes I wonder why I'm even an eletrical engineering major -- the other day I had a history exam with an A. Oh well, I'm too far deep in it now!

8. I started as an EE major...
but changed over to accounting in my junior year. The one course that stumped me was the first level of electronics...3 times. Power systems were my baby and I did very well in any other area of EE but I just could not get electronics.

Stick with it the best you can! We had study groups back then but I did not take advantage; if you have those available don't pass them up. I don't dwell on what I might should have done 20 years ago, but maybe extra tutoring would have helped or maybe a change over to some other engineering school. That said about dwelling, I do sometimes think about the fact that my starting salary 20 years ago would have been close to what it's taken me 20 years to get working in higher ed. But I was raised with an 'it's not all about the money' attitude (my parents are still better at living that than I am) and I do enjoy working with students.

Spring Break is next week for our students and the staff gets 2 days. Mine is Monday and Tuesday! :bounce:

I wish you success, fujiyama! :toast:

11. It's funny you mention electronics...
because that's the class I had the exam in.

My first exam went pretty well so I'm pretty sure I'll pass the class. I haven't been spending enough time on the HW though (end up spending too much time on this board ;-)).

I will admit, I do find history and political science much more interesting and if I were to start again I would have majored in something easier and then maybe have gone to law school or something.

But I can't complain too much. I find the engineering classes interesting when I put the time into them...It's just so hard to just sit down and concentrate and the election is also somewhat distracting (though since the primaries have died down I'll be able to put more time into my ECE classes).

6. We are on the quarter system
so spring break comes after winter quarter finals, next week. I think that's about the only good thing about the quarter system. Looks like the engineers in my macroeconomics class are pulling most of the A's (there are no business or econ majors in that section).

Then it's off to the south fork of LI with my bride (1965) for a few days in a bed and breakfast. We are told the weather is unpredictable anytime, but especially in early spring -- so, if you are the praying sort, pray for good weather in East Hampton. But, heck, we couldn't afford East Hampton in season, and it will take some really heavy weather to keep us from spotting a few birds and coming back with some calendar pix of lighthouses and windmills.

Which reminds me -- I need to Google "Long Island Windmills" and see if there is a guide -- Ta, all, I'm off.

7. we're not on the quarter system here
we have old-fashioned semesters. My college is in session eight months out of every year. The extra month (the 9th month) we have off is called "January Interterm" so we can take free fun non-credit classes, do internships, or spend the entire winter month at home.

9. I have been out of college for 20 years now
but I am still leaving for my own version of spring break in a week and a half (spring training baseball, beach, beer, and no family)

12. I'm getting off my spring break.
:(

Oh well. I did nothing but sit at home all week. It sucked. All my highschool buds are starting spring break today. I hate that. My college always goes a week earlier than them.
