Poll question: How many televisions are in your home?
One two? How many of those damned idiotic boxes ARE there in America anyway? A BILLION (Not quite but we did have 854 receivers per 1 000 population in 2000! http://www.unece.org/stats/trend/ch11.htm )??? I tried for a while to do counts of TV's in restaurants and bars and eventually realized that many places have a screen in every line of sight, I gave up...

Oh, we've got two people and one TV.

1. My name is southerngirlwriter, and I'm a recovered TV addict.
I have been TV-free for nearly five years. Best thing I ever did. NEVER will I go back.

5. This ought to be a survey that
includes number of people in the household.

Four of us, one TV. We're the only middle class (upper middle, actually) family that I know with only one TV. Everyone else has a minimum of one TV per person. One in every bedroom, which is appalling, in my opinion.

Husband and I both agree that when we abandon the Midwest, hopefully in a year or so, we'll also leave TV behind.

2. Three:
Edited on Thu Mar-11-04 11:23 PM by HypnoToad
One in the living area.
One disused in storage. (needs RF modulator to be of any use...)
One in the bedroom.

Give me a delicious man to wed with and I'll dump TV for all eternity. Yes, I would give up my precious Lister, Doctor, Vila, Meathead, Kid Dyn-O-Mite, and all the rest!!

7. I'll use my parents' house for an example
since my apartment only has the one.

There are televisions in:

My parents' bedroom
My old bedroom
The living room
The den
The kitchen
My father's office

And there are only two people living in their house.

8. 1 person, 2 televisions, no television service.

One 32" in the living room with a Sega DreamCast hooked up.

One 25" in the bedroom with a dvd player and vcr hooked up.

Used to have the dvd/vcr downstairs, but I LOVE laying in bed :smoke: and watching a movie, and since I never have company over to watch one, I moved that junk upstairs. Would like to get a nicer dvd player later and vcr for the downstairs eventually, and finish hooking up the home theater.

9. Family of four, two tvs
One in the kitchen and one in the living room. I don't believe in having a tv in the bedroom-- you gotta have a place away from the idiot box.

10. One.
That I could do without if it wasn't for my old videocassettes. Japanese TV sucks even more than American TV (which they try too hard to imitate), but I haven't missed it one bit. Then again I was never much of a TV watcher to begin with. When I get bored enough to actually start channel-surfing, it usually lasts about 5 minutes before I decide it's time to go out. The only time I ever really watch TV is when there's something in particular I want to see, but after that's over the TV goes off again. My TV is a lonely machine.

That one's pretty old, but it still worked the last I looked. However, we only have two in active use.
