The neighborhood cat is out back chasing squirrels
Almost caught a couple of them. They are damn near as big as he is. I think if he actually gets a hold of one it's going to tear him a new asshole. He's well fed. I guess he's just hunting out of instinct.

1. my cat used to kill squirrels
it's the natural instinct of cats. I was picking up the kid i babysat from a friend's house once and the friend's cat brought in a live pigeon, that was almost the size of the cat.

They may be domesticated but they're still predators.

3. Our Sir Thomas tried that once. They were both in this huge tree

about equal with windows on a 2 story house. Squirrel won. They were nose to nose and the squirrel lunged at him. Tom ended up falling out of the tree and he ended up with a hole midway up his nose that took forever to heal. Yes, you could hear him breathing through that hole. :wow:

He never messed with squirrels after that.

4. My cat kills squirrels with a single bite, and then eats them
He gets two big cans of food a day. He's just a killer with a big appetite.

5. Mr. Peabody was belled and overweight and he could still catch them occasionally. I figure
they weren't long for the gene-pool if he could catch them.
