3. Who does it?
When I think of Shrek, I think of "You're a Rock Star" by Smash Mouth.

8. I just listened to the song on Youtube...
And I honestly don't remember it being in Shrek!

Then again, there have been so many songs, including the karaoke after the credits.

20. Hallelujah was played during the scenes when Shrek and Fiona are apart, pining for each other.

16. Which version do you have. The Rufus version IS the Shrek Song.
If they are saying that about Leonard Cohen, maybe you should use it as an educational opportunity.

If it's one of the other versions, why bother? Cohen's is the right one, Rufus is the famous one (to mass audiences, anyway), and the others are just tributes to Lenny.

17. Ofcourse it is Lenny's version.
I have nothing against Rufus , he covered "Across the Universe" adequately . But when it comes to covering Cohen : FUCK YOU RUFUS.

19. I like the John Cale version, too. (I think it's the same one)
yes, it being identified with Shrek is a bit odd.

9. Everybody and their Aunt Mabel does a version of it
However, it was originally written by Leonard Cohen.

The song has been covered by Jeff Buckley, that Wainwright kid, and k.d. lang. And me, in the shower, on occasion, if I need a break from singing "The Shah Sleeps In Lee Harvey's Grave" by the Butthole Surfers.

11. That hallelujah is the shittier one. That's what I call it.
Jeff Buckley's is the way to go.

14. I like Buckley's guitar playing in it....
but I was never a big fan of his singing. Not a hater- it just doesn't appeal to me all that much.

15. I like the pace of the Buckley version. I think the song sounds better slower.
