See if you can spot "Mine that Bird" make his move from the third pack just as they pass the green thingie going into the final turn

AMAZING. That horse was flat out flying.

After the jockey gets the horse calmed down I just love the "YES!" moment high-five with the guy in the red jacket (forgot what you call them)

1. Flat out lengths in front, too.
Not just winning by a nose or whatever. Amazing. :D

3. That move to the rail was bold to say the least
whether it be a foot race or a horse race there is risk and reward going inside-if you make it through great but it is very likely that you get cut off. The leader at the time appeared to be preoccupied with the riders on his right. From the jockey's nickname they should have known that he was likely to do that but then again he had a horse that was CLEARLY faster than the rest.

He hit a gear that no one else had.

2. What was funny ...

The announcer didn't even know who the hell it was. He was talkin' up the front-runners like he was about to call a photo finish, and then there's this horse out of NOWHERE.

Awesome.

he didn't say Mine the Bird's name but twice before they got to the last turn

Wasn't even in the race as far as anyone was concerned....then suddenly WHAM gone

5. The jockey did an amazing job
I backed it up and watched the last 1/4 of the race. That jockey basically threaded the needle and then let the horse do the job. I love to see races like that!

Thanks for posting! :hi:

8. I backed it up several times
unfortunately youtube ain't exactly HD now is it? and there is no slo-motion

but tracking them back to that point is amazing to see. ESPN showed the isolation shot of Mine that Bird and it really shows the out and then BAM back in route that the jockey took. Daring and it paid off.

10. He actually bumped the rail at least once
but he said the horse was so small he knew he could thread the needle with him, and so light he danced on the mud.
