Uh oh! I forgot to renew my license plate stickers.
I was supposed to get new ones in April. Completely slipped my mind. Let's go find out how much extra I'll have to pay! :)

1. My Mother got pulled over a few months back
Her plates were expired, she didn't have her proof of insurance in the car, and she didn't have her registration. If you knew my Mother, you would be as shocked as I was at the time. She got it all taken care of though, and is back on track.

5. I can see how all of that would be a problem.
I do have insurance and registration, both cards in the car. With Holy Week, a week's vacation, getting taxes done, spending this week consoling a bereaved family and preparing a funeral, well, this fell through the cracks. I'll get it done Monday, though.

7. Sounds good
I would rather prove to the law right there and then that I am legit rather than going to the court house later and proving it then.

2. Yikes...
I'm sure it'll all work out...just won't be cheap. I paid $138 for a stupid little sticker from the MVA for my car last month. I swear by the 3rd of the month I got mail from them about renewing my tags. *sigh* Finally put it on my car yesterday.

3. Lots of states give you ten days grace after the end of the month
You may not have to pay any penalty if you get them by May 10.

4. NC's that way - 15 days...
but you also have to have a valid vehicle inspection as well. We used to have inspection stickers but they done away with those now. You just have to have a valid vehicle inspection in order to be able to renew your licence tags. Otherwise... just hope the cops don't run your plates or some camera that scans for this picks them up...

Mark.

6. We don't have inspection stickers. Or if we do, I've always been
in violation of that law.

9. Idea.....
Just take the whole tag off and drive like that. That way, law enforcement won't notice that your plate is expired. :)
