He's not a radical, it's a rumor. He wants peace just as much as any good muslim does.

3. Great music, jerk of a person

I produced him in concert some 30+ years ago. He pouted and threatened not to perform because the font used on the concert posters was larger for the other act that night, Procol Harum, than it was for him. He was the lesser known act at the time. Spoiled Brat.

Cat converted to Islam and changed his name to Yusuf Islam

In the late 70's Cat was introduced to Islam by his brother David Gordon who gave him a copy of the Qur'an -- the holy book the of Muslims. Cat was immediately impressed by the religion and ultimately adopted it. He later changed his name to Yusuf Islam. He stopped making music because he felt that the life of a pop star was incompatible with the life of a Muslim.
