Yikes! Cat fight!!
So, I'm in the basement, putting laundry in the machine when I hear this horrible screaming and yowling and hissing. I come running up the stairs. I have this door onto my back porch that doesn't close tightly (old house) and doesn't have a storm door (none of my doors have storms because it used to be used as the church office and meeting space, so doors had to open out due to fire regs). Leon is reaching under the door and screaming and yowling, with his hair all puffed up, and some other cat is reaching in under the door and they're fighting with one paw each and screaming to high heaven! So, of course, Shamu and the beagle have to get in on it. I pick Shamu up and put him in the kitchen, him screaming the whole way, and get him out of the way. But the beagle and Leon are going at it by this time, which is really weird, because they love each other. But at one point, Grace actually has Leon in her mouth, around his waste, and Leon is fighting with her...while the outdoor cat is still reaching under the door and screaming. I finally get Leon and the beagle separated, but Leon is still screaming and growling and puffed up. And that paw is still reaching under the door....until I finally get things quieted down.

Wow! My heart is still racing. I've closed the kitchen door, so none of the critters can get to that door. But I have GOT to find a solution to the feral cat problem. Because it's apparently just too much to expect people to spay and neuter their own damn pets.

I'm going to bed.

1. Update: the outdoor cat was back this morning, sticking his paw
under the door, trying to make trouble. So, that cats are in a part of the house where they can't get to him. Anyone know if cat repellent actually works?

4. I don't know if it works, but it's worth a try.
Good luck, Critters. :hi:

2. I guess that's what you'd call paw to paw combat.
That's a new one on me. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions but I hope the situation gets better. Maybe after a couple of days, the outdoor cat will forget about your cat and move on to making trouble somewhere else?

3. I have a cat who growls and grunts and yells to high heaven any time she sees an outdoor cat through
the window. It will wake me up eaven it is so loud. When she first did it it confused the older male cat who though she was mad at him so he'd fight back. Now we both know she is just being territorial and some other cat has just walked by (my window is at ground level so she can get really close to the outside cat.
