Poll question: Facebook: Brutal honesty, or just ignore the friend request?
Someone contacted me earlier this evening that I haven't seen (by choice) for over twenty years. She wants to "get together for coffee". I knew this woman during my fundy period (yeah, I had one,) and I do not choose to talk with her again. Any conversation we have will definitely be her attempts to bring me back into "the fold".

So. What would you do?

3. Thank you
I can't imagine what she thinks we'd talk about at "coffee".

2. I agree with Xema...
Ignore the request.

You're not obligated to answer, after all...

:hi:

4. Thank you, my dear CaliforniaPeggy
It's so ridiculous. The former church people are slowly but surely showing up on my Facebook friends requests, and I just don't want to deal with them.

Ignoring them is the easiest way to deal with it.

5. Go look at her page, maybe she also deconverted and wants to talk with you for that reason.
If she's still a holy roller then ignore or deny, whichever works better for you.

6. LM, good suggestion

One of the deconverted friends and I have been having a great time over the last month or so. I'm thinking she's probably not in that number, but I'll check it out just in case.

p.s. I just came back from her page. She's working at the former fundy church. She says Jesus is her "best friend". I'm thinking "ignore" is a good plan.
