Tacos...

I don't like much Mexican food, so I stopped in a Taco Bell, figgering there's nothing in there an actual Mexican would recognize, and got a cheap taco deal.

It is at least cheap-- really cheap. More food for the buck there than any place else around here.

So, I eats the things and they're not bad, and I realize I have most of what I need to make them already at home. All I really need are taco shells-- available at the local supermarkets in several sizes for lots of them for 2 bucks or so.

Tacos, tacos, tacos... Lamb tacos, chicken tacos, tuna tacos, Boston baked tacos (with mashed B&M baked beans), PB&J tacos...

But, I found out that when the cat knocks a package of taco shells on to the floor, every single one of them is cracked. This, I believe, is how Nachos were born.

Excuse me, I'm off to make more tacos for a wee morning snack.

1. tacos are wonderful... however

canned baked beans are an abomination.

(Why would anyone deprive themselves of the glorious aroma of beans baking in the oven?)
