"Grey Gardens"- I just watched the documentary and all I can say is - WOW!
Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 11:26 PM by Minimus

I wanted to see it in anticipation of an upcoming HBO movie with Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. I ordered the DVD from Amazon and it came with "The Beales of Grey Gardens" a follow up DVD to the original documentary.

I thought the documentary was good and quite bizarre. My favorite part- Little Edie doing her marching dance:

I will watch the other DVD tomorrow.

Have any other DUers seen "Grey Gardens" and what are your thoughts?

2. I loved it myself.
It is really...compelling. No family is immune to obdurate oddness.

3. Can't understand why people like it.
SO they are a couple of crazy women who argue a lot in a falling-down house.

I couldn't relate, and I have my share of crazy women in my family.

I've also seen "Gimme Shelter" and I think the Maysles don't know how to edit anything.

Just lots of rambling footage that doesn't really tell a story.

"Gimme Shelter" might have worked if they had filmed the Stones' and other peoples' reactions to the murder, instead of focusing on Mick looking numb.
